Studio Closing & Equipment Care Checklist

Please complete these essential procedures at the conclusion of every session to maintain the safety, cleanliness, and integrity of our shared space.

1. Equipment Cleaning & Setup

  • Clean All Contact Surfaces: Thoroughly spray and wipe down the carriage, headrest, foot bar, shoulder rests, boxes, handles, loops, and mats using the provided spray and towels.

Note: Do not use wipes on upholstery. Wipes are reserved strictly for the Reformer tracks and wheels.

  • Reset Spring Tension: Ensure all springs are attached to their standard safety configurations.

  • Secure Chains & Clips: Clip all chains and ropes back securely in their proper direction.

    • Reformers: All 4 springs hooked onto the spring bar.

      • Handles hooked up

      • Bar placed at the back of the Reformer well

      • Box placed behind the Reformer

      • Footbar and headrest up

    • Chairs: 2 springs hooked on equal levels (2 high, 2 mid, or 2 low).

    • Cadillac: Everything is properly hooked up

      • Push-through bar securely hooked up on the outside of the frame.

      • All Safety chains returned

      • Footsprings and hand springs replaced to Rollbar side

2. General Studio Maintenance

  • Tidy Props: Return all props, weights, and accessories exactly to their designated storage locations where you found them.

  • Room Scan: Take a moment to inspect the entire room—including areas you did not use—for any forgotten personal items or misplaced gear. (The next teacher using the studio should not be able to tell you were there)

3. Closing & Security Procedures

  • Power Down: Confirm that all studio lights are turned off.

    • If you are the last person of the day, ensure the air conditioning (AC) unit is fully powered down.

  • Secure the Facility: Lock the main door and double-check that it has fully latched and closed completely before you depart the premises.

4. Other

  • No Drinks on the apparatus: Cups and containers leave residue and marks on the upholstery. Only water in the studio in a closed container.

  • No Pens on the apparatus: Pen marks cannot be removed from the mats. If you're taking notes while practicing, ensure your pen is closed.

  • No Food around the equipment: We are finding more ants. Please throw food wrappers away outside. We understand the need for a quick bite between clients, but make sure there are no crumbs or open food left within the studio.

If you have any questions about the specific cleaning products, how a spring or chain should be returned, or the proper closing protocol, please do not hesitate to ask.

Thank you for treating our studio with respect and care.
